Revd. Fr. James Tuite - Priest frjames.tuite@liberalcatholics.uk
James
spent some years living in various Christian communities and this
journey of faith and life took him into the Roman Catholic Church and
the Church of England. "I was conservative in my theology so I was
looking into the Anglo Catholic wing of the church". He served as a
pastoral assistant during this period.
Later he came to ‘The Anglican Catholic Church’ which is part of the continuing Anglican movement and was licensed there by Bishop Damien Mead as Reader tasked with the job of establishing a small mission congregation in Bristol. At this time he joined the ACC’s religious order ‘The Congregation of the Good Samaritan’ and was clothed as a Franciscan novice in Atlanta, Georgia (USA) taking the name Brother Juniper Mary. He was appointed to lead the congregation in Bristol.
He later joined the Orthodox Old Roman Catholic Communion as Lector re-establishing the congregation as ‘The Little Oratory of Our Lady of Walsingham and Saint Francis’. James says: "We would celebrate a Missa Sicca (sometimes called 'Dry Mass', it is the liturgy without the offertory) each Sunday so people can receive holy communion." He also serves as a Scout Leader in his local communityas well as having an outreach ministry in his neighbourhood and he was ordained to the priesthood in OCAC's UK 2023 synod in Bristol. James is a family man too!
