Brother
Piran-Maria, has served in the Parish of St. Luke’s Metchley since
2023. A Franciscan friar with a deep vocation to care for the sick and
dying, he is known for his gentle pastoral presence, thoughtful
teaching, and compassionate ministry among those most in need.Before coming to St. Luke’s, Brother Piran-Maria served in The Gambia in a humanitarian role, teaching English and music within local communities. He later studied for ministry at St. John Henry Newman College, continuing to combine pastoral care with a love of learning and service.
Alongside his parish ministry, he teaches English to asylum seekers and serves as Philosopher-in-Residence at the Birmingham and Midland Institute. Rooted in the Franciscan life of prayer and simplicity, he enjoys being in nature, playing the piano, and engaging others in conversations about philosophy, faith, and the love of God.
